Evidence-based TCM supporting women at every stage β from fertility and IVF to menopause and beyond. Open until 10pm so treatment fits your cycle and your schedule.
Women's health is one of the areas where Traditional Chinese Medicine has its deepest and most refined clinical history β and where modern research is now confirming what practitioners have observed for centuries. From irregular cycles to IVF preparation to menopause, acupuncture offers a whole-body approach that works with your hormonal system, not against it.
Acupuncture supports fertility by improving ovarian blood flow, regulating the HPG (hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal) axis, reducing stress hormones that suppress ovulation, and β in the case of male factor infertility β improving sperm parameters including motility and morphology.
For patients undergoing IVF, timing matters. We coordinate treatment around your cycle β stimulation phase, egg retrieval and transfer β to optimise conditions at each stage. We do not make claims about IVF success rates; we focus on creating the best possible physiological environment for your treatment.
Fertility (2025 systematic review) β Confirms positive effect for acupuncture as an adjunct to ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology). Particularly beneficial for ovarian reserve, cycle regulation and reducing anxiety during IVF.
Menopause (PMC12301320, 2025) β Confirms significant reduction in vasomotor symptoms (hot flushes, night sweats), mood disturbance and sleep disruption. A meaningful non-hormonal option for women who cannot or prefer not to use HRT.
PCOS β Multiple studies confirm acupuncture improves hormonal markers in PCOS including LH/FSH ratio, testosterone levels and menstrual regularity.
Dysmenorrhoea (painful periods) β Cochrane Review confirms acupuncture is more effective than NSAIDs or no treatment for primary dysmenorrhoea, with effects lasting beyond the treatment period.
Regular sessions in the 1β3 months before IVF begins. Goal: optimise ovarian blood flow, regulate the cycle and reduce baseline stress hormones.
Weekly sessions during ovarian stimulation. Goal: support follicular development and manage side effects including bloating and mood changes.
A session before or after retrieval where clinically appropriate. Goal: support recovery and manage any cramping or discomfort.
Sessions close to transfer day. Goal: support uterine receptivity and reduce the cortisol spike that accompanies the stress of transfer day.
"Acupuncture may improve clinical pregnancy rates as an adjunct to ART by improving ovarian response and reducing the negative effects of stress on implantation."
β 2025 Systematic Review, Journal of Reproductive MedicineMenopause is one of the most rewarding areas of TCM practice. The shift in hormonal balance that produces hot flushes, sleep disruption, mood changes and joint discomfort responds exceptionally well to acupuncture β often within a few sessions. For women who cannot or prefer not to use HRT, acupuncture offers a clinically supported alternative. For women already on HRT, acupuncture can address residual symptoms and support overall wellbeing during the transition.
We use validated outcome measures throughout your treatment to track progress objectively. For menopause patients we use the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS). For fertility patients we track cycle data, basal body temperature patterns and relevant hormone markers (with your consent to access GP/clinic results). For mood and sleep we use the PHQ-9 and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).
